ZimTrade scooped a Gold Medal Award for Best non-industrial/Commercial Zimbabwean Exhibitor at the recently held Zimbabwe International Trade Fair. Visitors to the ZimTrade stand commended the organisation for the top-notch, custom-designed stand and the high quality exhibits on display by the six SME companies which participated under its banner. The SMEs were: Tropicool Blinds, Shutters & Awnings; Samuneti Leathers; Lahama Trading; Meprin Founders & Engineers; Tassburg and, Mawabeni Designs.
Two of the six participating SMEs, Meprin Founders & Engineers as well as Lahama Trading, scooped Silver in the Agriculture and Irrigation Equipment and Bronze in the Leather, Clothing and Textile categories, respectively.
In his official ZITF opening ceremony speech, the guest of honour, His Excellency Faure Gnassingbé, President of Togo, commended Lahama Trading for their quality gloves which he said were of international standard.
The ZimTrade stand was designed and constructed by Expoguys who, not surprisingly, also won the best stand designer competition.
ZimTrade utilised the ZITF platform to coach companies on how they could utilise the Zimbabwe- European Union Business Information Centre (Zim-EBIC) to access market analysis tools such as the EU Export Helpdesk, Trade Map and Market Access Map. These tools are critical in the identification of potential export markets.
